English Teaching Jobs in Ecuador
Canadian House Center - Independent language school in Loja, Ecuador
We recruit Canadian, British and U.S. English teachers aged 22-60 who have a TESOL / TEFL certificate and preference is given to those with a university or college degree. It will be useful if you have basic Spanish but it is not essential.
We work with adults, teenagers and children from 4 upwards.
Teaching is 5 days per week and the salary is about USD350-400 per month. In addition, private tuition work is normally available.
The work involves: teaching English grammar, oral and listening activities, helping with other activities such as culture days and events, admin and exam supervision and other organisational duties. We provide all the text and grammar books and you will find our system is straightforward and easy to follow.
The school may be able to provide a loan towards buying an air ticket and can help with finding local accommodation.
We provide an induction course and buddy system for new English teachers and you will be able to observe other teachers' classes for a week.
We also pride ourselves on supporting the local communities at our own cost such as Street Children, projects with the blind and the local indigenous communities.
